If you live in Texas I'm sure you have already heard about the horses seized in Hill County, Texas. Over 160 head of horses need to be placed after being seized from their owner last Thursday and Friday. Some of these horses are in good condition, many others are suffering from various disease and starvation. Humane Society is needing people to open up their hearts and homes to these horses as they are already over run. Here are many of the news articles with more information about what is going on.

Please if you have room and are in the DFW or surrounding area, be a hero for some of these horses. I am still trying to hunt down the rescue/SPCA website to post up here.
ETA- More information. Wild Horse Foundation is currently housing all these animals and assuming the care that is needed for the time being. So far, over $20,000 has been spent on this seizure alone. Here are their links-

Calling all horse people in Texas!!!!!

Someone who has "power" and "connections" in the Texas rescue horse world really needs to do an investigation, and quick, on the NORTH TEXAS HUMANE SOCIETY.
This latest case that they are supremely messing up ( I mean, putting horses, on a DOUBLE DECKER and moving them to another pasture- bad enough)- but all of the horses have STRANGLES! Yes, let's move these horses so that they can infect others!
Just brilliant!
They were also involved in the removal of 30 ponies in Wylie, TX last year- and where all of the ponies ended up is still a mystery- HSNT won't say!
The ponies were NOT in bad shape, BTW. ( No they weren't mine! )
Please, someone that can do something about these people ( HSNT ), get them to open their books, tell what happens to animals after they get them, etc- do so!
I am only a nobody.
Again, something very wrong with NTHS.
I am in no way excusing the person that had his horses taken ( he needs jail time and huge fines ), but HSNT needs an "outing", big time!
Oh, dear, another terrible story.
I'm sorry I cannot help.
How can such a "wealthy" state let its' horses get into such terrible condition?
Good luck
To The Horses.

You better be careful, either you want to create a blog to snark out Cathy, or you want to create a complete replacement Fulgy blog. Not both.
Anon #2:
Wench can blog about whatever she wants, it is her blog after all.
P.S. It is NOT uncensored here. Wench deletes posts at will all the time.
So is it, A censored place to bitch about Cathy or a FHOTD wanna be board?
There are rabid followers here as well as there.
Imitation is the greatest form of flattery. I am sure Cathy is thrilled.
Sounds like there wasn't much of an investigation, and that these horses were under the care of a local vet. Sounds a lot like the FUGLY post from the other day that got bashed.
Why isn't it ok for this rescue to have dead horses on their property, but it was ok a few days ago for the FLA case? (the "rainbow Bride" rescue someone cited)
Also, I realize we're here to help the horses, but I have to tell you that the WHF site seems very hysterical in their approach, and
may not be the best resource for information, as they seem to despise the NTHS, and from their article, it doesn't seem like they believe the horses should have been removed at all.
They and the NP articles you posted all seem to show that the thing that really got the rescuer in trouble was the gun, not so much the abuse.
What makes you feel differntly about this case, than the other case, which seems kind of similar to me.
Just because anonymous brought it up...
Here's another example of an unjustified animal-control seizure:
Suspicious guy, judge deems inappropriate seizure
Anyway, I hope all the horses find good homes. Without the suffering the filly in my story was subjected to.
Whiney Anon: Yes, this is an "uncensored" place to vent, meaning, you vent about the topic, you don't drag a posters personal life up to be thrashed and rehashed. You know what we're talking about. Stop being a douche and trying to start trouble where there's none to start.
~DK
Wow, all the hatred and name calling..
I agree with the rabid comment.
Must be out of BonBoons and prozac over here?
Censored is censored, topic related or not.

Last Anon: You don't like it here, go back to your flock.
Last Anon: Funny, you're the one making it that way by trying to start fights and arguments. And again, if that's what you want, go back to your flock. You won't get it from us. *Shrugs*
Hmm, did arrive with birds? I don't know who or what my flock is?
Settle down, no one is looking for a fight. This isn't a school yard.

Actually, I'm the one who posted that first statement bringing it up, so there are at least 2 people who feel the same way.
And Anon, I'm confused about your "P.S.," what were you continuing from, my statement?? This whole anonymous thing is annoying to say the least.
Oh for goodness sakes. Please stop trying to stir the pot, guys. Wenchster has said nothing about whether she agrees or disagrees with the seizure of these horses. She's merely asking people to open their "homes and hearts" to horses in need.
Isn't that what so many of you care about? And why you profess to love Fugly's blog? And what you hope to do with your spare time/money? Or do you only care about being snarky, getting the last word in and being "right"--whatever "right" means to you?
Remember, once you spend your life on the narrowly-focused and mean-spirited activities, you can never get it back. I, for one, would rather spend my minutes on stuff that matters.
"Oh for goodness sakes. Please stop trying to stir the pot, guys. Wenchster has said nothing about whether she agrees or disagrees with the seizure of these horses. She's merely asking people to open their "homes and hearts" to horses in need."
I couldn't agree more.
Wondering why there's only 17 comments on this thread? The rabble will be outraged if the emphasis changes to rescue or anything other than red meat and death to Cathy. Feed the haterz and stalkers for comments, and don't quit these lame attempts at hiding your real motives behind social significance (or something).
Exactly right. No opportunity to insult anyone, no interest from the followers.
Wenchster, you really need to follow up on this story a bit more. There is a LOT more to it than what you're reporting. Are you being intentionally ironic? This, just days after your critique of FHOTD doing something very similar...
My concern is not with what the rescue thinks or NTHS did. These animals have already been turned over to NTHS. I did not post any lies or half truths or anything misleading anyone to act in a way unfit nor did I post phone numbers or email address to the Judge or DAs so people could harass them. I simply stated that over 200 animals total needed help, I could care less about the idiots involved in the abuse or seizure as these aren't things that really shock me- it happens everyday. My main concern, like many others, are the hundreds of horses and cattle that need human help to recover from this mess. Only reason why I even posted this is due to the fact that I waited for Cathy to post since she has a bigger following and these animals needed help regardless of the people that got them there. I guess there wasn't enough drama with this rescue for her to blog about it. So if getting the haters and Wench bashers over here to look at it helps these horses, then I would say GOOD!
As GoLightly would say...
For the Horses!
Please people, if you are going to bitch then find a point and discuss it. It doesn't help when you make up or twist W's points to try to create something to bitch about.
W. didn't say anything about the rescuers or the accused or who to support. She posted all the available information on her blog to read. This is very different from fugs who will post only certain information and then encourage people to attack.
W. only request is that you do something to help the horses. Now, what is wrong with that.
Did it occur to you that the people on this blog are actually out working with horses and aren't writing a lot. Sorry if this doesn't fit neatly into your conspiracy theories but that my excuse.
Secondly, W. hasn't brought up anything to discuss in this topic. She just making a request to help the horses. I'm sure that every one could post endlessly about how sad it is for the horses. But, that would be too redundant as everyone feels this way and we don't need to restate the point one hundred times. You seem to feel the need to do this so knock your selves out.
Here, here, Wench!
Kudos.
It's about the horses, people.
Not here>>>>
or there<<<<
The horses. They are in the
middle.

Whatever gives you the idea that this is an unjustified animal-control seizure?
I used to live in the same general area and can tell you that the VanDongens have had numerous run-ins with the SPCA.... particularly the son John VanDongen who has/had a stable in Richmond, BC.
Where there's smoke, there's fire. And the apple falls not far from the tree, as they say.

I'm glad someone local replied to this.
I tried to buy a horse from the fellow, Googled his name...and got all THAT. I backed away slowly.
--
Anyway it wasn't ME that decided it was unjustified, rather the judge. I've gotten the wording wrong though... The whole case smells very funny, no matter how you look at it, but the judge did rule that the SPCA did not act appropriately.
It was a complicated ruling. Very interesting. Judges don't usually even record the judgments on cases like this, which says something (in my non-legal opinion).
--
Reading about what happened to that filly in custody was really sad though. Would she have been better off with the owner? I can't say, but the judge talked about it at length.
--
If anyone is interested what seizures can do for a reputation, perhaps it is of value to know that it was't the charges or seizure that made me back away from that sale. It was the documented reaction of the owner.
You did good, Sarcasta! :)
Hiya Ms Wench:
Boy, don't know what's going on with you lately, but there is some delicious fodder on FUGLY ie; riding ability of celebrities. Like, have you SEEN William Shatner ride? He sits on the kidneys and flops up and down. As for that dyed black haired so called celebrity chick with the big boobs riding a dressage test... What the f... is with her hands? Everything else is calm but the poor horse's head moves up and down with her VERY unquiet hands. Wakey, wakey wenchie. Lots to see to criticise!
ps I'm only anonymous 'cause the blogger keeps forgetting me and this is easier.
Okay, Hill COUNTY is not in central Texas near Austin - you're thinking of the generic term, "The Hill Country" describing the areas west of Austin. We heard nothing down here until I read it here.
Texas is not a Wealthy State anymore than any other state. And we probably have the same number of good horse people vs bad horse people.
NOT excusing the condition of the horses or the messed up rescue either.

Dose anyone know Cathy's full name? If so, please email me at buckinbo@yahoo.com
Thanks!

Hey, I'm Canadian, I hope you know what I meant.
Oil generally = wealthy. I mean, Texas isn't exactly a third world country, ya know..
But yes, all places have their share of goof-balls.
More in Alberta of course..
KIDDING!!!
I hope the horses end up safe.
word verf is
connicat.
how ironic.
Just goes to show that no good deed goes unpunished....
Hope those horses find homes.
